🌞 I Laughed It Off, But This Method for Getting Clients Actually Works!
I’m going to show you how to get your first five customers in just a few steps.
The process is straightforward and works for nearly every kind of business, yet so many of us overcomplicate it.
I’ve learned this from Alex Hormozi and his new book, “$100M Leads” and I will summarize it for you.
Step #1: Get A List Of Leads
Head to your email account and catalog all the contacts there, including anyone you have ever emailed.
This becomes your list number one.
Next, I want you to visit each of your social media profiles. Essentially, it should be any social network account where you can send messages. List every follower you have there.
That is your list number two.
If you combine these two lists, you will have a bunch of potential leads from which you can, and will, find your first clients.
Step #2: Let Them Know You Exist
Don’t worry, I don’t expect you to cold message people trying to make a sale.
Finding clients in this weird way, as most would advise, won’t work.
You need to act like a human being and treat them as such, not as a money bag.
You must act as a human, personalize your message, and find details about the person that you know in order to start a conversation. Take 30 seconds to scan someone’s profile and find something you both share in common, an event in their life, an article of clothing they’re wearing, anything.
Then customize your message with the details you’ve discovered about them. It could be something like, “Hey, saw you welcomed a new baby,” “Hey, noticed you’ve moved,” “Hey, I saw you watched that movie.”.
It doesn’t really matter what it is.
The point is to show the other person that you took a moment to learn about them instead of just sending a cold sales offer.
The challenging part is to message 100 people a day, no more, no less.
It will be tough, you might not feel confident at first, but trust me, after the first message, it will get easier. Each next message will take drastically less time, and you’ll feel much better.
Nothing terrible will happen, you won’t die.
Just go for it.
Step #3–4: You acknowledge, you compliment and then you ask
Alex suggests using the approach he calls ACA: Acknowledge, Compliment, and Ask.
For instance, you might say, “Hi, I noticed you just graduated from university. How was it studying there?”.
Then, when they respond, offer a compliment, which could be something like, “That’s awesome. You must be proud of yourself for earning that master’s degree. It’s a really tough university, and not everyone makes it to graduation.”
You should aim to compliment them, creating a positive vibe about their life and this conversation.
After complimenting, you can ask your question.
It might go like this: “Now that you’ve graduated, have you thought about starting your own business, or are you looking to find a job?”.
Just act like a human being talking to another human being.
Step #5: Ask For A favor
Now comes the interesting part, step five.
You never directly ask the person to buy something from you. Instead, you ask if they know anyone who could benefit from what you are selling.
You might say, “By the way, do you know someone who is just starting a business and could use some help with XY?”
It’s important not to directly sell them but to make them aware that you exist and can help with XY.
In this way, you’re just asking for a favor , if they know someone, rather than trying to sell to them.
As Alex points out, this sixth step will help you avoid feeling awkward about reaching out because you’re genuinely not trying to sell them anything.
You’re just chatting with them, offering compliments, and making sure they know you exist.
I am sure that if you have over 500 people on your list, they will start recommending you to their friends, and you will gain your first clients.
This is a practical and straightforward way to acquire clients.
Don’t make excuses, pull out your list and start working for your future.
